But there are some periods when the excitement of Mumbai receives feverish arrivals especially during the months of October and November during Ganesh Chaturthi, a Hindu festival, which is celebrated for 11 days. This festival in Mumbai brings with it great joy and pleasure when the processions are taken.
Another time, when you make a trip to Mumbai feel the excitement seep through you, during the Diwali Festival. Diwali which is a moonless night proves to be the brightest night of the year, where all the houses are lit with lamps and lights.
This is the best time to visit the Marine Drive, which also offers a magnificent view with a background full of lights and crackers. Many dance festivals are also held during this period and it is indeed a wonderful time to be in Mumbai. Dancing with sticks and drums-the-Dandiya Raas is a traditional dance that adds to the promotion of tourism in Mumbai to a large extent. People everywhere flocked to take part in this ceremonial dance that is usually held during the Navratri festival. Traditionally attired people of all ages dance to glory.

Then there's the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna (Janmashtami), which is another opportunity that is eagerly awaited in Mumbai. The festival includes programs on culture by artists of great renown. The various pandals decorated with flowers and lights are indeed sites to be focused.

Beyond that, Mumbai hosts the Mumbai International Film Festival in February once every two years. During this festival, documentaries, short films, animated films, etc. are played at the Nehru Auditorium.
